The history of Black Cumin or Hei zhong cao
It all started more than two thousand years, the ancient Egyptians knew and used the black seed that described it as a panacea (cure for problems and diseases). Tutankhamun even had a bottle of the oil in his tomb!
Prophet Muhammad Sallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam, said: "In the black cumin healing for all diseases except death." (Bukhari, Muslim).
The Romans also knew this seed and called it Greek Coriander or Nigella sativa and used it as a dietary supplement.
In the first century, the Greek physician Dioscorides recorded that the black seed or black cumin were taken to treat headaches, nasal congestion, toothache and intestinal worms.
