“Sabji Gyan” – mobile application is launched by ICAR-Indian Institute of Vegetable Research and powered by mKRISHI®. Through this mobile application, Indian Vegetable Research Institute is establishing a dual communication system with the farmers. Information available via this mobile application, farmers can easily solve problems related to vegetable cultivation. Farmers can ask voice query through mobile and attach photographs from field to be sent to the agriculture experts in IIVR. Agriculture experts will respond with text and voice to the queries of farmers.
The vegetable-related technical knowledge, advanced agricultural practices developed in the research institute, information related to the identification and management of major diseases and insects in vegetables is being transmitted to farmers by means of advanced ICT and mobility.
Features like Best practices and frequently asked questions helps farmers to access the knowledge. Also all farmers can get information about weather in the area. Farmers can record their voice and ask their questions to the scientists. Through this application farmer have been made aware of the Mann Ki Baat and the Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan discussed by Hon'ble Prime Minister. Major agricultural news can also be shared with farmers. Further all farmers can be alerted about key agricultural related events. More than 40 thousand farmers are being registered in the first phase of Sabji Gyan mobile application. And soon the vegetable producers of other states of the country will be joining and using the same.
App helps to farmers for better crop production including the knowledge of various diseases.
